Homework assignments are worth 15% of your child’s total grade each quarter. Homework is assigned and graded on a regular basis. Since homework provides students with the opportunity to practice new concepts that they have recently learned, it is common for students to have errors on their homework assignments as part of the learning process. With this in mind, homework assignments will be graded with a score/level of 0-4 based on effort and completeness using the following rubric:
Score/Level Criteria
0 The assignment has not been turned in.
1 (Far Below Standards) Very little of the assignment is completed and/or a low level of effort was put into the assignment.
2 (Below Standards) Less than half of the assignment is completed. More effort is necessary.
3 (Approaching Standards) Some of the assignment is completed, but steps and/or work is missing. Name is missing on the paper. More effort is necessary.
4 (Meeting Standards) The assignment is completed, all necessary work and steps are shown, and it is clear that the student put in the time and effort necessary to complete the assignment. NAME is on the paper.
