Announcements

Welcome to PreK-4!!!  Ms. Cohen , my instructional assistant, and I are excited to be working with your children this year.  At the beginning of each month, I will send out an email letting you know that I have updated the Announcements Page.  This will be an overview of what your children will be doing in school for the month.  

Much of September will be spent getting to know one another and learning the classroom routine.  There will be several songs, crafts and stories the children will be able to enjoy their first few weeks of school.

The children will learn a song call "I Know that God Loves Me".  In our PreK-4  religion program, Stories of God's Love, the children will learn the importance of sharing and being kind to one another.  We will also focus on making the sign of the cross and a new prayer will be learned at Snack Time.

During September, the children will begin the first unit in our HAPPILY EVER AFTER reading series.  The story will be Little Red Riding Hood and in this unit, the letters Aa and Bb and the color red will be highlighted.  The children will be "introduced" to, and gain practice making, meaningful "markings" on their activity pages.  The storybooks and activity pages, along with information about key concepts covered in the the unit, will be sent home at the end of the month.  There are 10 units in this reading series and each one will take about 3 weeks to complete.

As a reminder, the children have PE Class everyday so sneakers are best!!!  No flip flops or strapless shoes for safety reasons please.
